Through trial and error, we have discovered that this particular planting strategy is the most effective for cauliflower cultivation. Unlike most leafy greens where you can use every growing port on the tower, cauliflower thrives best when grown in a double helix shape. This allows its voluminous leaves to have sufficient space to extend and flourish. We have successfully adopted this strategy not only for cauliflower, but also for other crops like broccoli and cabbage.
We have successfully grown 18 cauliflowers on a single aeroponic tower within a limited space of less than 1 square meter by implementing our innovative farming technique.
In addition to the traditional white cauliflowers, we also grow a delightful variety of orange cauliflowers. This type of cauliflower has a vibrant color due to its abundance of beta-carotene, an antioxidant responsible for the orange hue found in carrots, sweet potatoes, and other fruits and vegetables. Orange cauliflowers have milder and sweeter flavor in comparison to their white counterparts, they also grow larger and heavier heads.
The process of growing cauliflower demands patience, as it typically takes nearly three months for the crop to fully mature. A good indicator that it is ready for harvest is when it reaches 6 to 8 inches in width.
Cauliflower can only be harvested once. After the main cauliflower head is removed, it will not grow any more edible heads. To achieve optimal results, we recommend replanting a new seedling following each harvest.
Aside from the cauliflower head, leaves are also edible. They can be eaten raw, cooked, etc. We use the leaves in recipes such as stir-fries, sautés, soups, and salads.
